Blessed by a boy or a girl?

As she woke up, she realized that this Tuesday wasn’t like every other. It was going to be a life changing day. Her mom had come from miles away and her fiancé had taken the first few hours off of work just to be there. The three of them jumped in the car and made the short drive to the hospital. They were all giddy and excited as they walked into the doctor’s office located in the hospital. As they waited in the sitting room they contemplated and made their guesses.

The nurse came out and said she was ready to see them now. The three of them walked back to the room. Her mom and fiancé sat in the chairs as she laid on the bed. The nurse then used the ultra sound to check all aspects of the baby. The nurse made sure all the organs were there and that all the little fingers and toes were there. She then checked the weight and spine. Everything looked good.

They were all watching the screen happy and anxiously, waiting for the nurse to ask the question they all wanted to know.

“Do you want to know if it’s a boy or a girl?” she asked.

“Yes!” they all chimed in agreement.

The nurse then moved the ultrasound up and down and around her stomach so she could get a picture. As the nurse snapped the picture she smiled.

The nurse brought the picture up on the screen and showed them, it was in fact a BOY! They all cheered in excitement.

As they left the hospital, the three of them had smiles they couldn’t wipe off for the rest of the day.

  1. Correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think headlines can have question marks. Congrats on having a baby boy however :)

  2. I like how you gave detail in your story and made it obvious that the three people were nervous and excited. It needs editing in some parts, but the errors are minor.

Congrats on your baby boy :)

  3. This was definitely a cute story. The one phrase that I found awkward was when it said they "had smiles they couldn't wipe off". That is the only part that could use rephrasing besides a couple minor errors but it will be perfect once it's edited! Congratulations :)

  4. Congratulations!!!!! This story was very cute and I can only imagine how special that moment is in real life. You did a great job of capturing the nervousness/excitement with this story though.

  5. That was a nice story. You did great describing a very special moment in your life. Congratulations on having a boy!

  6. Congratulations!!!! I love this story! That is a really special time, you did a great job to focus on the details.

  7. Aw! I love it! So heartfelt and cute Johanna, even cuter now that he's made his appearance! I don't like the title, and there were a few areas that needed some rewording but otherwise its so descriptive and I could feel the anticipation! Love it!

    1. Well that's not what I wanted....
Congratulations! This was such an exciting story to read. I can't wait to read the edited version.

  9. The story could use some editting, but I liked the descriptions of the emotions.

  10. Congratulations! And thank you for sharing such a special moment with us.

  11. I like how descriptive the story is when describing emotion. I enjoyed it.
