At the beginning of this semester I thought this was going to be
the longest semester ever. The end is near and new beginnings are right around
the corner. This semester has been good and I really feel it's preparing me for
life after college. The mock interview day has came and I am glad it was assigned for me to do. I know many
people hate interviews, which I am one of them.
I went to my mock interview on Nov. 4th. I think it went well and I got some feedback on what to fix. This is something that will help everyone prepare for interviews and I felt comfortable asking her about stuff on my resume and she told me what she thought.
We also had the Career Fair day, which I am very glad that was an assignment in the Career Portfolio class. Everything that has been happening in this class is very beneficial for the upcoming events in all the graduates lives.
Now that it is almost mid November the pressure really is on. Trying to get all these group projects figured out and ready to present. I think that this is probably the most stressful month of the semester. I am ready for it to be Thanksgiving, which will bring on success week then finally finals week.
Finals week will be very busy. I am in 14 credit hours, so I will be having 5 finals. I was looking at the finals schedule and I couldn't believe I have a final on Dec. 11, which that is graduation day. I am not too thrilled about this. I would be alright with it if it was early in the morning, but it's at 1:30 p.m. Hopefully it doesn't take that long so then we have to be in Petro around 5:30 because the ceremony starts at 6:30 p.m.
I hope everyone has a great next month of the semester and to all the graduates congrats!
I can't believe you have a final the day that you graduate! I'm glad that you wrote about this, it's so exciting that the end is near. In the first paragraph it is a little awkward when you say, "the mock interview has came.." I would change it to, "I am glad mock interviews were an assignment because it was beneficial in preparing me for my future."
ReplyDeleteI agree with Bree, I can't believe you have a final the day you graduate! I am so sorry! I would put a p.m. after 5:30 in the last paragraph, just to clarify. Otherwise, great job. Also, congratulations! I can't wait to see all of the great things your future has in store!
ReplyDeleteI liked how personal and relevant you made this article, but it constitutes for an editorial more than a news piece because of the personal insertion you made. I would change the headline to read, "Future graduates conclude final semester." I would go back through and read this out loud. I think reading it out loud would help you catch a lot of the mistakes and awkward phrasing. Congrats on graduating though!
ReplyDeleteThis did read more as a personal editorial rather than a news article and there is some awkward wording in here, but other than that, it was an enjoyable post to read!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Amy and Mindy, it's not hard news style.
ReplyDeleteSomewhat vaguely written. I want more details about what went "good" and "stuff."
ReplyDeleteGood story if content was not time sensitive.
ReplyDeleteGreat article, but it's a little different because you're talking about things that happened in the past. Nicely written, though!
ReplyDeleteI agree with everyone. The story should be more informational. Try to stay away from personal opinions this time. :)
ReplyDelete" 5 finals", spell the five out.
ReplyDeleteGood article, but should have more facts and less opinions.
ReplyDeletePerhaps too opinionated, but other than that, good article.
