Success Week was implemented to provide students with a week geared towards preparing for finals week. At other universities, the week before finals is normally called "Dead Week." Washburn University wanted to promote positivity and to create an environment that students achieve the utmost excellence. Along with allowing students ample amount of time for studying, the week is filled with events that are created as an outlet for stress relief.

All I have to say is, I am sooooooooooooooo happy that this semester is coming to an end. Mikayla Douglas, loved this article. #perfection
ReplyDeleteI would reword your lede because there are areas where you can eliminate supplemental wording that doesn't add anything to the overall meaning. An example would be "Washburn University wanted to promote positivity and to create an environment that students achieve the utmost excellence." Instead try saying "Washburn University wanted to promote positivity and create an environment where students can achieve the utmost excellence." Good information! Just needs some extra proofing in certain places.
ReplyDeleteGreat job! The story is broken up very nice, I just wish the text was uniform. I don't think it's all the same size.
ReplyDeleteIn the sentence, "Washburn Student Government Association's student engagement committee in charge of preparation for the events that happen throughout Success Week," there should be an "is" between "committee" and "in." Other than the text font size appearing to change when you type out the events for the week, this looks great! Very relevant for students!
ReplyDeleteLooks great! The only thing I would do is to move the time/date/place at the beginning of the article.
ReplyDeleteWow, you did a lot of work writing articles.
ReplyDeleteVery informational to students. However, in the second paragraph, it should be "committee is in charge of," otherwise good story.
ReplyDeleteGood information!! Great job and I am happy this semester is almost over! =)
ReplyDelete"This year's Success Week is Nov. 30, through Dec. 6." Perhaps a comma isn't needed after the first date?
ReplyDeletevery informative! I personally think the headline can be stronger.
