Aldi Ridding of Hazardous Pesticides

Earlier this year the german grocery store chain Aldi has announced the banning of eight pesticides from all its products. This was one choice among several they have made in creating a healthier brand. This will lead to more rivalry among other leading health food stores like “whole foods.”

Aldi also plans to expand their organic food brands and add more gluten-free items. They also sell more meat that have less artificial growth hormones. Aldi will also offer more high end goods in its stores. Such things as coconut oil and artisanal cheeses.

The pesticides Aldi will be removing include Thiamethoxam, which is moderately hazardous to humans by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, Chlorpyrifos, and Cypermethrin which have posed risk to bees and persons autoimmune systems.

  1. I didn't realize that Aldi was a company based out of Germany.
